Article 225 Limitation Period of the Action
The action for violations of criminal law committed by adolescents shall be subject to a limitation period of five years in the case of crimes against life, sexual crimes and crimes against physical integrity; of three years in the case of any other type of crime subject to public prosecution. In crimes subject to private prosecution and contraventions, it shall be subject to a limitation period of six months.
The time limits established for the limitation period of the action shall be counted from the day on which the crime or the contravention was committed or from the day on which suspension of the proceedings was ordered.
Article 226 Limitation period of sanctions
Sanctions ordered in definitive form shall prescribe within a limitation period equal to the time limit ordered for compliance therewith. This time limit shall begin to run from the date on which the respective decision is final, or from that on which it is verified that non-compliance began.
