Capítulo Vil. Direcciones administrativas

The Directorate of Information Technology and Statistics is the body responsible for directing the activities related to the storage and processing of the data originating in the Central Registry of Persons, in relation to their civil status, civil capacity and other identification data. It formulates the Institution's plans and programs in the matter within its competence, reports on the fulfillment of the programmed institutional goals, and prepares the relevant statistics.

For the protection of the database, this unit shall be responsible for the custody and preparation of electronic backups, ensuring that a backup of them is also made at a remote site and that it is made simultaneously with the entry of the data and its processing at the central site of RENAP, and ensuring compliance with the standards and best practices in technological matters that guarantee its absolute security. It shall be governed by the respective regulation.

The Legal Advisory Directorate is the unit responsible for providing advice on matters within its purview to all bodies of RENAP. It shall be governed by the respective regulations.

The Administrative Directorate shall be in charge of organizing and carrying out the administrative activities of the Institution. It proposes to the Board of Directors of the RENAP, through the Executive Director, the policy for the administration and control of human, financial and material resources.

The Budget Directorate is the unit responsible for coordinating and directing the budget and expenditure rationalization systems; it establishes and evaluates budget execution. It shall be governed by the respective regulation.,

The Directorate of Management and Internal Control is the unit in charge of formulating institutional plans and programs, overseeing the administrative management of the public officials of RENAP, and monitoring administrative performance, in order to ensure strict compliance with the regulations that govern it. It shall also be governed by the respective regulation.

The Directors of the Administrative Directorates must meet the following qualifications:

a)Be Guatemalan and of legal age;

b)Be a registered professional (member of the professional association);

c)A minimum of four (4) years of professional practice;

d)Be of recognized honorability;

e)Others that the respective regulation may establish.
