Título III. Disposiciones finales

Article 228 of the Civil Code, Decree-Law Number 106, is amended to read as follows:

"Article 228. All aspects relating to adoption shall be governed by the Law on Adoptions."

Article 258 of Decree-Law Number 106, Civil Code, is amended by adding numeral 6 thereto, which shall read as follows:

"6. By judicial declaration of adoptability issued by the judge of childhood and adolescence."

Article 435 of Decree-Law Number 106, Civil Code, is amended to read as follows:

"Article 435. The adoption shall be registered in a special book in accordance with the provisions of the Adoptions Law."

Article 1076 of Decree-Law Number 106, Civil Code, is amended to read as follows:

"Article 1076. Biological or adopted children inherit from their parents in equal shares, but do not retain succession rights with their former family,"

All provisions that conflict with this law are repealed, and specifically Chapter VI of Title II of Book I, comprising Articles 229 to 251 and Article 309 of Decree-Law Number 106 of the Head of State, Civil Code; likewise, Articles 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33 of the Law Regulating Notarial Processing of Matters of Voluntary Jurisdiction, Decree Number 54-77 of the Congress of the Republic.

This Decree shall be published in the Official Gazette and shall enter into force on December 31, 2007.
