Article 2027

Professionals who provide their services and those who request them are free to contract with respect to fees and conditions of payment.

Article 2028

In the absence of an agreement, the professional's remuneration shall be regulated in accordance with the respective fee schedule and, if there is none, it shall be fixed by the judge, taking into consideration the importance and duration of the services and the economic circumstances of the person who must pay for them.

Article 2029

The professional has the right, in addition to the remuneration, to be paid for the expenses incurred by reason of the services rendered, duly justifying and evidencing them.

Article 2030

If several persons entrust a matter or request professional services in the same affair, they shall be jointly and severally liable for payment of the fees and expenses incurred on that account.

Article 2031

When several professionals have rendered their services in the same matter, each of them shall be entitled to be remunerated proportionally to the services rendered and to reimbursement of expenses.

Article 2032

Unless otherwise agreed, those who render professional services shall be entitled to be remunerated, whatever the success or outcome of the business or matter in which they have intervened.

Article 2033

The professional is obligated to provide their services with full dedication and diligence and in accordance with the prescriptions of the science or art in question, being liable for the damage and losses caused by intent, fault or inexcusable ignorance, or by the disclosure of their client's secrets.

Article 2034

When a professional cannot continue providing his services, he shall give due advance notice, according to the nature of the work, to the person who contracted his services, remaining liable for damage and losses if he withdraws without giving notice and without leaving a competent person to substitute for him.

Article 2035

If the person who contracted the services is not satisfied with its performance or with the acts or conduct of the professional, such person may rescind the contract by paying for the work and the expenses incurred, an amount which the judge shall fix if there is disagreement between the parties.

Article 2036

Persons who, without having a qualifying professional title or legal authorization, provide professional services for which the law requires such requirement, in addition to incurring the respective penalties, shall have no right to remuneration and shall be liable for the damage and losses they have caused.
