Capítulo IX. Disposiciones transitorias, finales y derogatorias

Within the time limit of five years counted from the entry into force of this Law, the Congress of the Republic shall issue the pertinent legal provision for the Directorate of Attention and Assistance to the Consumer to become the Procurator's Office for the Defense of the Consumer and User.

The Directorate of Consumer Attention and Assistance –DIACO– of the Ministry of Economy shall adjust its procedure and functions as prescribed in this Law.

All actions, procedures and other matters that are pending or new ones filed before the date on which the Directorate commences its operations shall continue to be processed in accordance with the legal provisions in force at the time of their filing before the competent body.

The Ministry of Economy shall prepare and submit for consideration by the President of the Republic, the Regulation to this Law, within the non-extendable time limit of sixty (60) days.

The headings preceding the articles of this Law have no interpretive validity and may not be cited with respect to the content and scope of their provisions.

This Decree shall enter into force fifteen days after its publication in the official gazette.
