Article 44 Of Income
The income derived from the application of this law shall have the character of private funds of the General Directorate of the National Police; which Directorate, by itself or through the Department of Transit, shall collect them and dispose of them in accordance with this law.
The funds collected by the tribunals in connection with the hearing of transit matters, which form part of the budget of the Judicial Branch, are reserved.
Article 45 Collection and disposition of revenues by the municipalities
When the Ministry of Gobernación transfers the administration of transit to a municipality, the revenues derived from the application of sanctions, especially fines, their surcharges and expenses shall be collected by the municipalities. In this case, the revenues collected shall have the character of private funds and the municipality shall allocate them exclusively for the design, maintenance and improvement of transit activities, including road infrastructure works.
